Before calling us out on a boiler breakdown, it would be advisable to first check the following three simple points if your heating or hot water supply appears to be faulty, these simple steps could save you money:
1. Check other gas appliances such as cookers or gas fires to make sure you difinitely have a flow of gas into your home. If you have no gas at all, then call your gas supplier.
2. Depending on the model of a boiler, a typical operating pressure range is 1.0-1.5 bar. If your boiler is much below this, you will need to refill and/or restart it. Check manufacturers instructions and warning lights on your boiler.
3. If your pilot light is unlit, read the instructions that are usually on the inside door of the boiler and try starting it yourself .

We do not recommend you attempt to repair any gas boilers, be they system or combi boiler, as they are connected to the gas supply and this could be very dangerous. By law you will need to contact a Gas Safe Register engineer, as anything other than superficial repairs requires Gas Safe certification.
